VZD’s live music scene comes back with a bang, hosting Stillwater’s Red Dirt Rangers on Friday, February 26th. Trio Brad Piccolo, John Cooper and Ben Han previously opened for the Dixie Chicks at VZD’s in 1993, returning for what Cooper calls, “the best live music and bar in OKC.” Red Dirt Rangers look to bring the studio vibe to one of the best listening rooms in OKC, performing their classics as well as some new material. Cooper keys in on the relationship and atmosphere between artists and fans at VZD’s stressing, “VZD’s was the first gig that meant anything, bringing the locals in is always our goal.”
VZD’s historical significance in Oklahoma’s live music scene cannot be understated, previously featuring such acts as the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bo Diddley, the Flaming Lips and the aforementioned Dixie Chicks. After reopening its doors in the summer of 2015, VZDs is happily involving themselves once again with their continued support of local artists.
Attendees of the upcoming Red Dirt Rangers' show can parlay dinner and drinks with the 8:00pm performance, pre-sale tickets are available: www.cellardoormusicgroup.com
